For CA firms and SME finance teams

Bank statements in. Tally vouchers out.

Ledgr reads your clients' bank statements and invoices, suggests the ledger head for every transaction from your firm's own past entries, and drafts vouchers you import into Tally. It matches purchase invoices against GSTR-2B, so missing input tax credit shows up before the return, not after. Nothing posts to the books until an accountant approves it.

    Where the month goes

Most of bookkeeping is deciding the same head again.

    • Dr

      Line-by-line posting

Three hundred statement lines a month, and most of them go to a head someone in your office has already chosen for that party before.

    • Dr

      Narrations that say nothing

"UPI/424512/okicici" or "CHQ 000412 CLG" has to be traced back to a bill, a party or a phone call to the client.

    • Cr

      ITC found missing after filing

A supplier who has not filed, or filed a different amount, only shows up when someone sits with GSTR-2B and the purchase register side by side.

    How it works

Five steps. Step four is always a person.

    1. Fo. 01

      Upload

Drop in the month's bank statements, purchase and sales invoices, and the GSTR-2B you downloaded from the GST portal. Photos of paper bills work too.

      You
    2. Fo. 02

      Read

Ledgr pulls out date, narration, amount and balance from each statement line, and party, GSTIN, invoice number and tax from each invoice. Unreadable pages are flagged, not guessed.

      Ledgr
    3. Fo. 03

      Suggest and draft

Each line gets a suggested ledger head, learned from how your firm posted that client's past entries, with a confidence and a reason. Vouchers are drafted as Payment, Receipt, Contra or Journal.

      Ledgr
    4. Fo. 04

      Accountant approves

Your accountant accepts the confident ones in bulk, changes the heads that are wrong and answers the flagged lines. A correction becomes a rule for next month.

      Your accountant
    5. Fo. 05

      Export to Tally

Approved vouchers download as a Tally XML file. You import it into the client's company through Tally's own import, the same way you would any other file.

      You

    GSTR-2B reconciliation

Every purchase invoice checked against 2B, before you file.

Upload the month's GSTR-2B and Ledgr lines it up with the purchase register by GSTIN, invoice number, date and tax. Each invoice lands in one of four buckets, with the reason in plain words.

    Matched
Same supplier, invoice and tax on both sides, allowing for small differences in how the invoice number was typed.
    Amount differs
Found in both, but taxable value or tax is different. Shows which side is higher and by how much.
    Missing in 2B
In your books but not in 2B, usually because the supplier has not filed yet. This is the ITC to follow up.
    Missing in books
In 2B but not in the purchase register. A bill that never reached the accounts team, or one that is not yours.

Ledgr prepares the working. Claiming ITC and filing GSTR-3B stay with you. Ledgr does not connect to the GST portal and is not a GST Suvidha Provider.

    What it reads

The files your clients already send you.

    Purchase and sales invoices

Supplier PDFs and phone photos of paper bills. Party, GSTIN, invoice number, date, taxable value and tax are read out; a blurry or cut-off photo is flagged for a person.

    Your books stay yours

    Ledgr drafts. Your firm decides.

    An accountant approves every entry

Every suggested head and every voucher waits for someone in your firm to accept it. Nothing is posted to any books on its own.

    You import the file yourself

The output is an XML file you download and import into Tally. You can open it, check it, or not import it at all.

Client data handled per the DPDP Act, 2023

Statements and invoices are used only to prepare that client's books, seen only by the people you add, kept for the period you set and deleted when you ask. The terms are agreed in writing before a pilot starts.

    No access to your Tally

Ledgr does not connect to your Tally unless you choose to set that up. By default, the only thing that crosses over is the file you import.

    FAQ

    Questions firms ask us.

No. Ledgr is built by Digital Brings and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Tally Solutions. It produces an XML file in the format Tally's import accepts, and you import it using Tally's own import option.

No. You download GSTR-2B from the GST portal and upload it to Ledgr. Ledgr prepares the reconciliation; claiming ITC and filing returns stay with you. It is not a GST Suvidha Provider and is not approved by GSTN.

From how your firm posted that client's past entries, plus rules you add. Every suggestion shows a confidence and a reason, for example "11 past payments to Lakshmi Properties went to Rent". When you change a head, you can save it as a rule for that client.

We do not quote an accuracy figure; it depends on statement quality and how much history a client has. What you get is a confidence on every line, with anything below your threshold sent to a Needs review list. The pilot exists so you can judge it on your own clients.

Statements from Indian banks in PDF or Excel. Layouts differ by bank and even by account type, so each layout your clients use is checked with you during setup. If a page cannot be read cleanly, it is flagged rather than guessed.

Client documents are handled as the DPDP Act, 2023 expects: used only to prepare that client's books, visible only to the people you add, kept for the period you set and deleted on request. We agree these terms with your firm in writing before a pilot.

We set Ledgr up for a few of your clients using their past Tally data, run one month's statements and 2B through it, and you compare the drafts with what your team posted. You decide after seeing that.

Close the month with fewer lines to post.

Message us on WhatsApp. We will walk you through Ledgr on a sample statement in your bank's format, and set up a pilot on your own clients once the data terms are agreed.
